Antique Lava Cameo Ring with Marcasites. The stamp, 800 hallmark was used in the 19th and early 20th centuries for jewelry. The halo style ring is surrounded by marcasites or white pyrite. Pyrite has been used in making jewelry since the time of the ancient Greeks. Marcasite popularity was prime during the 1770 and still popular in 1800s through the Victorian Period to Art Nouveau.
